I shopped around for a powered shovel. I am over 65, not in the best shape, and have had some health issues, so concerned about using a shovel to move snow, especially shoveling and picking it up. I do have gas powered self propelled for the driveway and larger amounts of snow, but use shovel for front door stoop, clean up to shed, to grill, deck and some of the patio areas. Unit arrived, and SO EASY to put together and charge up battery. First snow came (1-3") and was able to use it where i used to use shovel, and it works great and as described, does throw the snow a distance. As others have mentioned, keep the wind direction in mind since it discharges up and away and the wind can take it and blow it on you. Recent late December snows, left piles of drifts, and used it this morning on deck and patio and snow was packed snow, and some drifts from 12-15" high and no problem. Keep in mind it will take alittle longer to get through the drift, but for me, much better and safer than using a shovel. The other areas on the patio and deck, couple inches of snow and works great. Again, for me, faster, easier and safer than using a shovel (just keep an eye on wind direction AND where the snow is getting tossed), and throws the snow a ways away. Battery, I used for 20 minutes or so continuously and still had charge left.

After use, I think it is excellent! Plenty of power and battery life for deck cleaning, sidewalks to driveways. It can throw snow 20 to 30 feet away. I've used it about seven times this winter, and I'm sure I'll buy another one if it breaks.

Voltask is better for soft snow and works perfectly. I'm happy with it and happy to have purchased the machine that saved my winter.

I bought this mainly to clear light snow and can't use it on steps and decks with a Deere fan. Glad not to have to carry the snow over the railings anymore.

Snow removal is now as easy as a walk.

Great for powder, but not so good on wet snow

The shovel works well even on uneven concrete surfaces. Simply remove the top layer of snow to keep it from freezing. When the snow is too thick, work half shovel width to avoid sticking. After getting stuck, step back slightly and wait to start again to remove the blockage. Note that this shovel will spray the powder far away. Watch your eyes.

Works very well on lighter snow

I just bought this snow shovel. I haven't used it yet because it hasn't snowed yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Today, during my first significant snowfall, I tried it out on the back deck and yard, especially to clear toilet access for the dogs. It's easy to use, lightweight and easy to operate compared to my old shovels that needed to be plugged in and trailed, and it's impressive at clearing snow. The feeling after use is very good, I recommend it to everyone!
